Those wishing to view the 2017 Solar Eclipse in Madison County are welcome to use designated public spaces such as city and county parks, and state and federal public lands. Please check with these entities prior to the eclipse to ensure that viewing is allowed, and that space is available. For the Brigham Young University-Idaho Campus: viewing area’s are reservation only. Please contact BYU-Idaho directly to reserve a space.

In addition, private individuals and entities may offer their property for eclipse viewers; please make sure to obtain permission from them before using their property. The maps within this section of the website can be used to locate viewing areas; please check the appropriate owners to make sure that they are open. It is the responsibility of individuals to ensure that they have the permission of private landowners to use their land for any purpose. It is also the responsibility of individuals to ensure that public lands used for viewing the Solar Eclipse are open to the public.
